Objectives: Information and Communication Technologies have revolutionized access to knowledge resources all over the world. The traditional scope, functions and methods of collecting, storing, processing and accessing information in National Libraries have undergone a massive transformation. The growth of Virtual Libraries, Digital Libraries, Online Database, Library and Information Networks automated services throughout the world make it necessary to review the services National Library, India with particular reference to the needs to be met during the 21st century.

The National Library Services cover a wide variety of services and products. The participants of the Conference are welcome to write on any issue that is concerned with the scope, functions and services of the National Library. The following issues are broadly highlighted to ensure a larger participation of experts from all over the country.

We take pleasure in inviting library professionals to participate in this National Conference, which would certainly be a unique event in which some of the best names from the following fields are going to participate:

You will have to cover your expenses on travel to Kolkata, India. The National Library of India will provide local hospitality.

Call for Papers
We also invite you to participate in the deliberations and contribute a paper on any of the issues listed above or otherwise on an issue that has a bearing upon the National Library Services in the 21st century

Travel Information

1. All invited delegates will be provided board and lodging free of charge. They will bear expenditure
to be incurred for their travel from their places of residence to Kolkata and back.

2. Those delegates, who wish to come on their own and are selected to participate will have to make their own travel, board and lodging arrangements.

3. Conform your participation early.

4. November is a pleasant month in Kolkata. The temperature varies from 25 - 30 degree centigrade.

5. Taxis are freely available in Kolkata. Get taxis from Pre-Paid booths at Airport & Mail railroad station-Howrah.

6. Electric supply is available in 220-240 volts 50 Hz AC. Usually the power sockets are of round 3 pin type.

7. English is widely spoken.

NACONAL would be organized at the Bhasha Bhawan, National Library of India, Belvedere, Kolkata, India.
