National library, Kolkata organized - under the project - Activities for the Northeast States of India - 'a seminar and workshop on Delivery of Books Act, 1954 and conservation of documentary heritage' at the State Archives Conference Hall, Aizawl, Mizoram, during 4-6 April 2002. Mr. B. Lalthlengliana Honourble Minister, Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Mizoram, inaugurated the workshop.

Authors, Publishers, Intellectuals and Librarians of Mizoram attended the workshop. Twenty-eight library professionals participated in the Conservation Training and were awarded certificates.

The workshop was arranged with the co-operation of the Department of Art of Culture, Govt. of Mizoram.

A photographic exhibition on conservation activities of the National library and workshops on D. B.Act organized by the National Library at different places of India during the year 2001-2002 was also arranged on the occasion.
